Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026

Car Logs (“the app”) is published by Dhondooo. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and what your choices are.

The short version

What stays on your device

Everything you enter is stored in a database on your phone and is not transmitted to us:

We cannot see any of it. If you uninstall the app, it is deleted with the app.

Camera and photo library

The app asks for camera and photo library access only so you can attach a receipt to a record. Images are referenced from your device’s own storage and are never uploaded. You can decline the permission and still use everything else.

Service reminders

The app works out when a service is due from the intervals you set, and hands that schedule to your phone’s own operating system so a reminder can appear even when the app is closed.

These are local notifications only. There is no push token, there is no server sending you anything, and your vehicles and service schedule never leave the device — the operating system is simply told to show a message at a time, on your phone.

The app asks for notification permission the first time you switch reminders on. You can decline, turn them off again under Settings → Notifications, or revoke the permission in your device settings. Any of those stops the reminders; nothing else about the app changes.

What we collect

App updates

The app checks for updates when it starts. That request tells the update service which app version and platform you are running so it can reply with the right update, if any. It does not include anything you have entered in the app.

What we do not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, advertising identifier, browsing history, or any usage analytics. There is no crash reporting. The app has no accounts, no login and no cloud sync.

Backups and exports

Exports you create

The app can export all of your records to a single file so you can move them to another device or keep a copy. That file is created only when you ask for it, and it goes wherever you choose to send it — email, a cloud drive, a messaging app. Once you share it, whatever service you sent it to has it, and their privacy policy applies. The file is not encrypted, so treat it as you would any personal document.

Device backups

On Android, your phone may include the app’s data in the automatic backup it makes to your own Google account, the same way it does for other apps. That backup belongs to you and Google, not to us — we have no access to it. You can turn this off in your device’s backup settings. On iOS the same applies to iCloud and iTunes device backups.

Service providers

The app is offline by design, so this list is short:

We do not use Firebase, advertising networks, or any analytics provider.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.

Your rights

Because your records never reach us, there is nothing for us to hand over or delete on your behalf. You are in control of all of it:

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the date above and, where appropriate, tell you in the app.
